Hull v Man United betting

December 24th, 2013

Manchester United head to Hull on Boxing Day knowing that a couple of wins over the Christmas period could propel them back into title reckoning - or at least into contention for those all-important Champions League places.

United have won their last 7 games against Hull and bookmakers are confident they will make in 8 in a row, with the visitors available odds of 4/7 (generally), while the draw can be backed at 10/3 with Sky Bet and Hull at a massive 6/1 with Bet365. The Red Devils have also won 16 of their last 17 Boxing Day fixtures.

But David Moyes' side won't be complacent about this one - Hull have the best home defence in the Premier League so far his season (just 3 goals conceded in 8 games) and beat Premier League leaders Liverpool 3-1 here at the start of December.

A tight game is therefore anticipated and given that United have won 2 of their last 3 games at the KC Stadium by a 1-0 scoreline, we'd recommend a bet on that at stand-out odds of 13/2 with Ladbrokes (as short as 5/1 elsewhere).

Wayne Rooney is one goal away from becoming only the second player in Premier League history to score 150 goals for a single club - Thierry Henry reached 175 for Arsenal - and he can be backed at 5/1 with Bet365 and Ladbrokes to score first, while a Rooney / United 1- 0 Scorecast pays 28/1 with BetVictor (just 16/1 with William Hill).
