Bournemouth v Liverpool tips

December 16th, 2014

Bournemouth welcome Liverpool to Dean Court on Wednesday night and the game is live on SkySports 1 from 7.45pm.

Liverpool, who currently languish 10th in the Premier League table, look ripe for a cup upset and the Cherries, who top the Championship, will fancy their chances of beating a side who have only managed 2 wins in their last 10 games (D3, L5).

The bookies though keep faith with the Reds - Liverpool are 1/2 (generally) to qualify for the semi-finals, while Bournemouth are a top priced 7/4 with BetVictor to reach the last 4.

As far as the 90 minute odds are concerned, it´s incredible to see Liverpool available at odds-against versus a Championship side. Bet365 and Coral offer the best price of 21/20, while the Cherries are available at 13/5 with Betfred and the draw at 14/5 with Bet365.

But you can see why the layers are queuing up oppose Liverpool given their current form and run of results. If you want to oppose Liverpool you can also back Bournemouth on the Asian Handicap market, with a 0.5 goal start, at odds of 7/8 with Bet365 - this way you win so long as Liverpool don´t (in 90 minutes).

The Cherries played Liverpool here in the FA Cup last season, going down 2-0, but as this is the furthest the south coast side have ever progressed to in a knock out competition, you can be sure that their fans will be more vocal than ever before - if Liverpool don’t score quickly they could be in trouble against a side unbeaten in 12 games since September, who have already beaten West Brom in their Capital One Cup run.

They have also comfortably scored more goals than any other Championship side (44) this season and their games average 3.2 goals. We therefore strongly suggest backing Over 2.5 Goals at 20/23 with BetVictor, while Correct Scores best on 3-1 and 3-2 home wins at odds of 28/1 and 33/1 and 3-1 and 3-2 away wins at 16/1 and 25/1 (all with Betfred) are also suggested - as Betfred refund losing Correct Score bets on televised games that finish 1-1.

As far as First Goalscorer bets are concerned, at the prices it may also pay to go with a couple of Bournemouth players. We suggest backing both Callum Wilson - the 22 year old forward who has scored 11 goals in 17 games this season (13/2 with Bet365) and Marc Pugh, who already has six league goals this season - he’s a huge 16/1 with Bet365 (9/1 elsewhere).
