Arsenal v Stoke tips

January 9th, 2015

Arsenal play host to Stoke at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday and the game is live on SkySports 1 from 1.30pm.

The Gunners are 1/2 favourites with BetVictor and Ladbrokes, while Stoke can be backed at 7/1 and the draw at 15/4 - both with Bet365.

Arsenal are currently in 6th place in the Premier League, with Stoke in 11th spot, seven points behind. But whereas Arsenal have a fabulous record at home - they have only lost one of their last 27 league games in front of their own fans - Stoke have won just three of their 10 away games this season and we expect Arsenal to win this game quite easily.

Indeed, the Gunners have won their last 12 home games in a row against Stoke, and although the Potters raced to a 3-0 half-time lead against Arsenal in the reverse fixture at the Britannia Stadium last month and held on for a 3-2 victory - it is worth noting that that Stoke scored their three goals from just four attempts on goal in that match.

If Stoke are to score - and Arsenal have gone six games since keeping a clean sheet - it may well come from Peter Crouch; he has scored no fewer than eight times against Arsenal, his joint highest total against any one side. Arsenal have also conceded more headed goals than any other side, bar Burnley, in the Premier League this season. You can back him at 4/1 with Betfred to score at any time in the game.

However, main goal scorer betting should centre around Alexis Sanchez, who has already scored 10 league goals this season and been involved in more goals than any other Premier League player this season. The Chilian should be backed each-way at 7/2 to score the first goal with Bet365, who offer 1/3 odds for the 'place' in this market - if your player scores at any time in the game.

Only Spurs have had been involved in more 'Over 2.5 Goal' games than Arsenal this season, and the Gunners games are averaging three goals a game at present, so we also strongly suggest backing 'Over 2.5 Goals' on Sunday at 5/6 with BetVictor.
