Aviva Premiership Tips
Newcastle v Wasps (7.45pm Friday - BTSport1)
Wasps have been getting stronger over the course of the season and may well prove too good for Newcastle at Kingston Park on Friday evening. Wasps thrashed Harlequins for a bonus point win last weekend and are up to fourth in the table. The Falcons have also shown a marked improvement, but they were well beaten at Exeter last Saturday and remain second bottom. Wasps with a -1 point start looks the pick of the handicap bets.
Bath v Northampton (3.15pm Saturday - BTSport1)
Champions Northampton can show their strength when the Aviva Premiership's top two meet at the Rec in the big match of the weekend on Saturday. The Saints, who beat Bath 31-24 at Franklin's Gardens earlier in the season, were the last team to prevent the hosts from winning at the Rec in a 19-19 draw at the tail end of the last campaign. Bath have won all seven since, but at best odds of 4/7 they look too short in what could be a very tight match. Take Northampton with a plus 4 start.
London Irish v Leicester (2pm Sunday - BTSport1)
By Leicester's standards, this has been a terrible season and they find themselves in seventh place as they bid to avenge a 19-22 home defeat to London Irish. Only once since the season's opening day have they won by a double figure margin, and that was against whipping boys London Welsh. That stat suggests they won't find things easy at the Madejski, but with their international stars back in the fold they can get the win and overcome the three point handicap on offer from Stan James.
