Paddy Power - Willie Insurance
The Willie Mullins trained duo of Douvan and Un De Sceaux are many people's day one bankers at the 2015 Cheltenham Festival and Paddy Power's two Money-Back Specials mean you can now 'insure your Willie'.
Race 1 - Supreme Novices Hurdle - Money back on all losing bets if Douvan wins*
Douvan is 7/4 favourite for the Festival opener and could be something very special indeed, having impressed greatly in his two outings in Ireland to date.
A 12 length winner of a two mile Novice Hurdle at Gowran Park in November (second that day was Sizing John, a subsequent winner of a Grade 1 at the Leopardstown Festival), he then looked even better when obliterating the field in the Moscow Flyer Novice Hurdle at Punchestown in January - a race that has proved a very informative trial with regard to the novice hurdles at Cheltenham with Mikael D´Haguenet winning it in 2009 and Vautour successful last year, with both going on to score at the Festival.
Race 2 - Arkle Trophy - Money back on all losing bets if Un De Sceaux wins*
Un De Sceaux is 4/7 favourite to win the Arkle and it is widely accepted that if he stays on his feet he wins. His two chase wins this season have been by a combined 27 lengths and, although exuberant in his jumping, he was flawless in his last prep race - a Grade 1 chase at Leopardstown, where he beat Clarcam (a 17 length winner of a Grade 1 at the Leopardstown Festival at Christmas) and Gilgamboa (a 24 length winner of a Grade 2 at Limerick in December).
He was quite flawless in that race, beating two very good horses in pretty sensational fashion and on that evidence it´s very hard to see any novice being good enough to get near him in the Arkle.
Both offers are available to both new and existing customers and apply to win singles and the win part of each way singles.
Ruby Walsh, rider of both hotpots, said: ‘They’re both rock solid and two of my best for the week, maybe they’re trying to put people off backing but I wouldn’t put you off, and if I was a bookie there’s not a sniff I’d be taking them on like this. Paddy must hate money - I hope he’s cleaned out!‘
This certainly looks the perfect safety net to kick-start the Festival if you are not backing either favourite.
