Bradford v Reading tips

March 4th, 2015

League One Bradford take on Championship side Reading in the first quarter final of this season’s FA Cup and the game is live on BTSport1 from 12.45pm on Saturday.

But despite being from a lower division, it’s Bradford - with home advantage - who are the bookies favourites, with Betfred offering the best odds of 13/8 on the Bantams, while Reading can be backed at 19/10 with BetVictor and the draw at 23/10 with Bet365.

Bradford famously beat Chelsea 4-2 at Stamford Bridge in the fourth round of this competition in January, having been 2-0 down, before beating another Premier League side, Sunderland, 2-0 in the fifth round here.

And having reached the final of the League Cup in 2013, beating Arsenal and Aston Villa en route, Phil Parkinson's side know how to find their way to Wembley. Of course, Parkinson is a Reading legend having served with distinction as a player there (1992-2003).

The Royals are struggling of late, with just one win and two goals in their last five league games (D1, L3), and with just 4 wins in 18 away league games this season, their fans will not be over-confident despite facing a side from the league below. Having said that, all three of their wins in this season's FA Cup have come on the road.

Our first suggested bet therefore is on 'Both Teams To Score' at a stand-out 10/11 with Coral. Bradford scored six goals in consecutive games against Premier League sides to reach this stage, while Reading have scored in 12 of their last 14 away games in all competitions and should at least find the net against lower league opposition.

Those looking at the First Goalscorer market should back Jon Stead each-way at a huge looking 13/2 with Bet365 - Stead is the leading scorer in this season’s FA Cup, with five goals and Bet365 offer 1/3 odds for the 'place' in this market - if your player scores at any time in the game.

But we also suggest backing Bradford’s Billy Knott too - he has scored three goals in his last four FA Cup appearances and can be snapped up at a huge 14/1 with Coral (10/1 elsewhere). Also back him to score at any time at 11/2 with Coral (7/2 elsewhere).

Reading’s leading goal scorer in the Championship is Simon Cox (8 goals) and he also appeals each-way at a huge 15/2 with Bet365 in this market.
