Liverpool v Blackburn tips

March 5th, 2015

Liverpool welcome Blackburn Rovers to Anfield on Sunday for the third FA Cup quarter final of the weekend and, according to the odds, the most one sided.

The resurgent Reds can be backed at best odds of just 1/3 with Betfred, while Blackburn are available at a huge looking 12/1, also with Betfred, and the draw at 5/1 with Bet365.

Rovers certainly face an uphill battle here - they have won just four of their 18 away games in the Championship this season, scoring a paltry 19 goals in the process. They have also lost seven and drawn four of their last 11 trips to Anfield.

Liverpool have looked very good since the turn of the year, and their 2-0 victory against Burnley on Wednesday night was their 9th win in their last 11 league games (D2). Indeed, based on points scored, Liverpool are the top club in Europe in 2015.

They are also looking defensively strong, perhaps for the first time since Brendan Rodgers' arrival, having conceded just six goals in their last ten league games.

If you are looking at a Correct Score bet on this game, we suggest backing a couple of Liverpool wins with Betfred, as that firm refund losing correct score bets on all televised games that finish 1-1 (as the last game at Anfield between these sides was).

Let’s take a 2-1 Liverpool win at an industry best 9/1 with Betfred - Liverpool have scored exactly two goals in each of their last eight FA Cup wins, six of those being 2-1 victories - plus a 2-0 Liverpool win at 11/2.

If Rodgers starts with Daniel Sturridge, he would be an excellent bet at stand-out odds of 10/3 with Coral to score first, having scored 10 goals in his last 12 FA Cup starts.

But we also like the look of an each-way bet on Jordan Henderson at a massive 16/1 in this market with Paddy Power (just 8/1 with Sky Bet, Coral and William Hill). Henderson has scored first in Liverpool's last two games and Paddy Power pay 1/3 odds for the 'place' in this market - if your player scores any of the first 5 goals.
